In addition to being possibly the world’s only true ‘green fur’, Brushtail fiber enjoys a number of technical virtues.

It is very fine with a scale-like structure, forming a diamond petal arrangement along its length. This makes it very soft to the touch, like Cashmere and the finest wools. But because these scales lay flat it is a smooth fiber, like Mohair. This fiber profile also means it is very lustrous, reflecting light like mirrors, giving it rich depth.

In addition to being a very strong hide, the fur has a hollow bamboo-like structure which serves to trap air and results in amazing warmth to weight ratio. Like wool, Brushtail fiber is made up of proteins, letting atmospheric moisture permeate – acting as a comfort thermostat for the body.

Whether crafted from full hides or blended with exotic natural fibers such as New Zealand Merino wool, the softness, texture & durability of Brushtail products are unrivalled.
